Not quite sure what you mean. If you mean you want to create a 'flat' representation of 3d geometry then you can use the SOLVIEW command to create your viewports and then the SOLDRAW command to create the drawing. This will create 3 layers - one for visible lines, one for hidden lines and one for dimensions.
What's wrong with setting the viewport "hide" property to On and just viewing the result?
Thanks for your help, but now tell me how to insert dimension to it???
You could always dimension in paperspace.Originally Posted by vishms22
I'll take that one step further and probably upset a lot of people and say you should always dimension in paperspace!Originally Posted by scwegner

If you're clipping planes are on, and you really want to dimension in model space, you will need to set your UCS base point to a visible part in the window, or else your dimensions will be at the UCS elevation, and thus probably not visible.
Model space dimensioning may also have the problem of overlapping into other viewports, thus requireing multiple layers to control where specific dims are visible.
Personally, I find dimensioning a 3D model considerably easier in PS, just be aware that the base of ordinate dims will go to wherever your UCS base is, which may mess up your printing if you use extents setting.

Hi "vishms22"
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD General Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.
Thanks, Mike
