Default CUI add menu item to partial menu

[Yes, this was posted in the 'desk NG's earlier today - still looking for more answers]

Ok, I've watched the movie and read the book, but I'm still lost.....

How do you add a menu item to an existing menu header in a partial menu?

Right-clicking on the menu header gets you "New Menu" or "New Sub-Menu". Wrong. So I'm guessing you need to add a new command first, then drag/drop it to the menu?

If so, how do you create a new command that belongs to a partial menu? When you click the New button, it always adds the new command to the ACAD menugroup. I don't want it in the ACAD menugroup. This occurs even if the category "Custom Commands" is loaded under "Command List | Categories"

Good grief - I could have been done editing the MNU in the time it took me to write this.

    TIA

Your right, you need to make a new command. Then you will drag and drop it into your existing menu.

Any new commands will be added to the main cui. I have two profiles that I can switch between. Each profile having a different cui set as the main cui.

One is for normal work having the custom cui as the main. This is so I can make my own custom commands, menus and toolbars. They will then be saved to my custom cui.

The other profile is set to have the office cui (my Enterprise cui) as the main. Any command that I create will then be added to this cui.

Hope that clears things up. If not let me know.

Yeah, I kind of figured out the profile switching thing in the last hour or so.... Could this whole CUI thing be any more unproductive?

This sort of reminds me of plotting in R14 vs. R2000. I just hope the end result is the same.

The setup could have been easier, but the results are awesome IMHO. You can give the user the ability to customize AutoCAD to their heart's content, put make it so they can't mess anything up.
