There is a bug concerning 3d dwg exports from Revit Building 8.0 and the Viz 2005/2006 file link utility.

If you change the Material Type of an imported Revit material in the Viz Material editor (e.g. changing an architectural material to a standard material) and you do not rename that material. Viz will override that change upon reload regardless of weather or not the "use scene material definitions" and "use scene material assignments on reload" box are checked.

There are several workarounds to this problem:

1. Rather than importing Revit materials from the scene to one of the slots, and then modify that material from an architectural to a standard material or to anything else. Assign any material to the object from material editor.

2. Renaming the material in VIZ2006/2005 before reload.

3. In Viz, before reloading, save current scene materials out to a material library file. Reload, let Viz overwrite the materials. Load the prior materials from the material library you just made, and "put them to scene" replacing the incorrect materials.

Revit 7.0 and 6.1 dwg exports are NOT affected by this issue.
