    Default DWF Text Opacity

The DWF printer doesn't seem to work properly for text with Revit. It doesn't maintain any text opacity which has been set.

I have read on other threads (older pre 8.0) about setting the "Appearance Color" to Color in the print dialog however the drop down is greyed out and its set to Color anyway.

Is there a way to get the text to print properly?

    I'm not seeing this problem.

Just ran a test with different fonts - black and colour, with 2D DWF, raster set to Presentation and colour selected. Looks fine to me.

I take it you are able to select the "appearance Color".

Would you know what would make the drop down grey out (as is the case with mine)?

Are you selecting from the Properties of the DWF writer ?

Yeh, that part of it set to color.

Attached is the dialog that I'm the trouble with.

I've read other threads were people have changed the appearance colors to color and it has resolved the issue for them.

Thats right - the Print Setup is greyed out for colour, since colour has already been selected in the printer properties dialogue. It shows "colour" in the greyed out box and it prints to colour with that setup.

Not having any success with this. I've tried several different fonts also including the basic Arial and Tahoma. I've also tried setting the Printer Properties to monochrome but the Appearance Color drop down is staying greyed out. Very frustrating !!

The only thread that I can find that deals with this issue suggests changing the Appearance Color.

Is anyone else having this problem??

The only dialogue box that allows me to switch between colour and mono is the Printer Properties - Paper/Quality setup. This option , once selected there, is unavailable from the Print Setup - Appearance dialogue.

Thanks BG. So in other words the appearance is controlled by the Printer Setup and would never become available from the Print setup dialog.

This seems absurd, ASIFK if its working for others it should be relatively simple to get it to work.

I have attached both RVT and DWF files. If anyone can make any other suggestions for resolving it'd be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I'd stick with PDF's until they improve the DWF format.
