Default Unable to Open a drawing file

    hello,
I've got problems with opening my drawing.
I opened the drawing Saturday for the last time.
When I now try to open it the error says.
    "drawing file is not valid"
But the preview when opening shows me the last save I made.
Can somebody help me with this problem

    Thank you
    greets

    Maarten

have you tried to 'recover' the drawing?

do you have this problem with other drawings?

can you post it so someone can take a look?

when you are replying to the message, you can scroll down until you see 'additional options' and there is a button for 'manage attachments' you can load your file into your post that way.
I don't recall the file size limit offhand, but, you can always zip the file prior to posting if it is too large...

I am guessing that you are basically "out of luck".
I had a similar problem and found that I had an .arx file that froze up AutoCad and left a bunch of unwanted code in my drawing file. I had a .5mb file balloon to 2mb.
I pretty much lost a days worth of work after the IT department retrieved an older version of the file from a previous backup tape.

I tried everything from recovery tools, batch purging, opening in Inventor instead of AutoCad, and even using a file translation tool to transfer to an iges file. Nothing seemed to work, however, Inventor seemed to open the file. The inventor file wasn't usable.

    Hi

If you are unable to post the drawing file here within the forums, please feel free to E-mail the file directly to myself.

I can't promise anything, but I will take a look and try my best...

    Have a good one, Mike
