Adding custom characters to font file

Someone in my office, who is no longer with us, changed our text or the actual program in such a way that %%d does not produce a degree symbol, simply typing the ^ symbol now produces a degree symbol. This person also manipulated other keyboard symbols. Can anyone tell me how this is done so that I can change it?

Ok! not a standard SHX font file that ships with AutoCAD (makes it a little bit more ticky).

Have you tried a search on the web for "arch.shx"?

If no, it might be worth your effort and time to see if you can locate it for download.
