    Default Road alignments

I'm using LDT 2005. I've created my proposed surface, alignment, and horizontal profile. I've created my vertical road alignment. I created a typ. road template and created my cross sections. My problem is when I go to road output. I'm not getting contour lines to show the way they need to be by following the roadway template cross sections. They are cutting straight across. What am I missing?

If you need more info, please contact me at aworfler@fribis.com and I can e-mail you the dwg file for you to see what is happening.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds like a problem with your template not inserting enough roadway points. Could you attach a copy of your template and explain a little more about how you created it, like where you put datum points etc. Then exactly how you created the surface using the road output. Did you use Point Output -- Tplate pts to dwg? Did you create the surface using 3D polylines for breaklines or did you just create it based off of your roadway points?

After you created your template, did you edit it to Add a Top Surface and\or pcodes at the vertices? Also when you run your cross-sections, did you select the template and then select the number of Pcodes that you used when processing? I usually insert a Pcode at each vertice regardless of whether I will need them on the plans or not. This way, when the surveyor wants a stake-out report for , say top of curb, I can open a file, set my alignment, and then Import Template Pcode points using Just the TC pcode. You would need to add the additional pcodes to your template by going to Cross-sections - Edit template - Edsurf - Points and add the pcodes you need or create them and then add them to the template. You would think that LDT would make this a part of the template design automatically, but it is an additional step that often gets overlooked.
