    Question loading modeler dlls ?

Why does my computer lock up when I get this message
(loading modeler dlls) and can I change a setting to prevent the lockup.
It only locks up for a few seconds but it is frustrating when it happens.

Dose ADT lock up upon opening, or when you open a drawing.
You could try hitting the esc key 20 or 30 times as soon and the Acad window pops up. This should cancel any commend and or regen that's causing the problem. The only issue it that you will need to load the modeler dll at some point. You may need to run a repair.

Based on your explanation, it sounds like something is corrupt.

John, did you even find out why your ACAD was loading those DLLs?

Acad will load modeling dll's when promted on any command that deals with 3D stuff. ie orbit, slice, extrude......and so on. ADT usually loads those up front on start up.

David, thanks for writing, however we don't do any 3D in this shop. There is a line of code though that speaks of a failure during startup:
    C:\Program Files\Autodesk Map 3D 2007\AcMapWorkspace.arx cannot find a dll or
    other file that it needs.
    .Failed.

That's probably where my problem lies, but I don't know why I'm getting this message. I am the admin for three machines and they all have the same problem. Perhaps someone knows what has caused this and how I come overcome it.

Please post a new thread in the appropriate Civil 3D forum since you seem to be loading files from Civil 3D 2007.

I'd ask your civil consultant to send you a flat file. Depending on version, you may be able to get this to work, but you'll have to load all the civil object enablers from the Adesk website. My outright guess is that the file was also created in an incompatible version, ie 2007 and your running 2006, but I wouldn't think that would cause the failure.
Again, I'd ask your civil consultant to send you a clean flat file. When you get it, open the drawing and -wblock it first. For some reason, civil plans tend to get littered with lots of junk. Just my thoughts.

Wink Re: loading modeler dlls ?

topic is pretty old but i have a situation that's been BUGGIN me for a few days now and, in keyword ter, relates to this.
the fact that it locks up on "loading modeler dlls" has nothing to do with them. in my case at least. try unplugging your network cable and observe what happens
my every stubbord drawing had a reference to an image or other xref on an IP it could not reach.
    hope this helps.
    cheers!

I get the same problem and it happens randomly. It is not when I am trying to access a drawing, but it happens when the drawing is open and I am editing it. It is not related to a specific drawing, it happens with all my drawings, and with drawings that other people have created.
