Question Background Mask Model or Paper Space Unstable

I have done a search on the forums, read quite a handful of issues on background masking, but could not find my issue. I am using AutoCAD 2005.

After creating a text with MText, and setting the background, I add a leader to what I am pointing to. When I regen, the masking disappears. However, when I pick the text, it shows the masking (or when I move the text). When I regen again, the text may or may not shows the masking. It is not consistent – this is very frustrating. I have used draw order to override or set the color level still not solved. Bye the way I am using an XRef to be blocked out. I tried with ordinary block, same problem.

    Any solution to this dilemma?

From my experience, it seems the problem happens when you edit something behind the mask and it's brought to the front. I find that quickly toggling TFRAMES (set to F4 for me) generally fixes the problem but I'm on an older version so...

this isn't a real fixer for the problem, but i've had that same thing happen- wot i ended up doing was ereasing the text all together and started over or copy one that does work.

make sure your text is in front of everything in the draworder.

i found that that doesn't make a difference doing draw order w/ the background mask- but i could be wrong...that has happened @ least once b/4

    Hi

Apologies if the below is teaching you to suck eggs...

_.TextToFront command (AutoCAD 2005 or above) is a very easy way of achieving this.

    Have a good one, Mike
