    Default Wall Based Generic Model

Using a wall based generic model is it possible to retreive parameters of the host wall?

I am trying to build a family that would be wall based that would adapt to the host wall, currently I can host the family to the wall then set the extents in elevation manually.

No, but it is possible to create reference planes that will follow the outside faces / centre of the wall (be sure to lock to wall geometry) that you can then lock other geometry onto.
