Excel paste link - Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered...

needing some help on this. I am trying to PASTE SPECIAL an excel table link into an AutoCAD 2005 drawing, but every time I go to select the insertion point I get the following error message:

Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry.

Does anyone know what this means?

I would perform a Add/Remove Programs Registry Repair install on both MS Office and AutoCAD.
