Default Make CAD drawing look like a hand drawing

    Hi

Unusual query this and most probably in the wrong forum however here goes.

I have been asked if I can make CAD drawings appear as thought they have been hand drawn.

I am using 2000i although I do have part access to 2005.

Has anyone got any ideas? Apologies if this is a daft question.

    Regards

    Neil

We've used a program call Squiggle before. If you do a Goggle search I'm sure you can find it.

Well, there are any number of fonts that are designed to look handmade floating around like arch.shx, architxt.shx, archs.shx, archstyl.shx, etc. For the drawing itself, there's a lisp called Roughen by Mark Middlebrook which I've attached that will take straightlines and make them a little crooked. Be careful with this though. You'll want to save a separate file for this because once you roughen something, there's no going back and editing a roughened drawing can be a pain.

I am researching using Squiggle, and I read in other posts that a plot file is used as the file that Squiggle processes. Is there a way to make a plot file directly from Revit (we only print pdf's), or do I have to export to AutoCad or Microstation fiirst, then create a plot file, and then import to Squiggle?
I don't know AutoCad, so hopefully knowledge of it is not required to go from Revit to Squiggle.

Can you set a pen setting to vary a little? that would be the best solution, as it doesn't change any linework.

This is from the Squiggle Website. I don't work with Revit so I don't know if it has the capability of output to a HPGL or HPGL/2, dxf, or dwg file types, but if it does any of those, I presume it will work.

Squiggle works great with AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, AutoSketch, ALLPLAN, Cadkey, CorelCAD, Corel VisualCADD, CorelDraw, DataCAD, DesignCAD, Draphix CAD, Drawbase, DynaCADD, EasyCAD, MicroStation, TurboCAD, or any CAD, drawing, or graphics application that outputs HPGL or HPGL/2 files. DXF files or DWG files.

We use napkin sketch in ADT which works quite well - not sure if it is in vanilla cad though.
