    Default LDD 2005 elevation precision

The grading base drawing is set up to display an elevation precision of 2 decimal places. On screen it is also displayed as 2. However when each individual grading plan that xreferences the grading base is opened, the elevation precision appears as 3. The settings in all drawings is confirmed to be 2 decimal places. Also when a drawing appears to display two decimal places for its elevations it plots out as 3 decimal places. This has been a reoccuring problem and most obvious solutions have been exercised. I am still in search of a solution.

I'm a little unclear as to what exactly the problem is. How does the elevation precision problem present itself? Is it in the contours, on a profile, in a vertical alignment, in the site grading report of cut and fill?

    More info please.

The actual grading AECC point object on a grading plan displays as having two decimal places but when plotted it reverts to three decimal places.

Open up your drawing setup dialog box.

    Project>Drawing Setup ...

    Units tab.

What is the precision on Elevation?

    Is it 3?

Try changing that if it is. If you've tried that, I'm not sure what to tell you. Sorry.

Can you attach a screen shot of what you are talking about?

Are you using custom label styles? If so, check the settings in the Point Label Style dialog by clicking on the Linear button and make sure that is set to 2 as well.

In my research to this problem I have determined that the 'units' setting and the units setting in the 'drawing set-up' must be both set to two decimal places in all drawings being used as xreferences, including title blocks. Sometimes during plotting or viewing Autocad uses the units settings of other drawings being used as xreferences rather than the settings of that drawing being viewed. Thus far this solution has worked.

Have you tried Points>Check Points>Add unregistered points to project database? Are the xrefed points in your project database?

i've tried the these options, however there is no need as the solution previously mentioned seems to be working.
