Default Wall Reveal Family - Precast Panel Joint

We are using a Wall & want to divide it up using a Vertical Joint using a Wall Reveal.
I have Sucessfully made the Profile Up & it Cuts the Walls Great - Just what i want.

I Now want to (& have had no sucess of it) attach a detail component to the wall reveal & have it showing (all the sealants etc - i will turn it to only showing at high detail later)
Probelm is - when it is loaded into the profile & then the profile reloaded into the project - the new detail item dosen't show up at all?
Im quite dumb founded about what i have down wrong - i have used the right templates & that - wall revel & detail item

attached is the project file for your help

Have you checked various detail levels. ie fine or medium? When you placed the detail component in your profile family did you set its visibility to be on or off based on detail levels?

Not to hijack this thread but I was wondering what you and others think of using Curtain Walls and Panels for precast instead of a standard Wall with Reveals... I haven't pushed it too far yet but I would imagine that you could place the details you're talking about in the mullion instead...

Personally I think working with walls is far simpler and more flexible than using curtain walls.

I could be wrong but I believe you cannot nest a detail component in a wall reveal, I just created mine as a wall hosted generic model

Is there any way to be able to use the centerline of joint reference plane to align and dimension to when using these reveals? The ref plane in the family is labeled as Centerline, but when placed in a project, it's like it doesn't exist. (This goes for any profiles)

I have done the Profile Twice
    - Once as a Wall Reveal Profile (no detail) &
    - Once as a Wall Hosted Profile (with detail)

attached is what i have ended up with using the reveals

regarding dimensioning to the centre of the joint - no luck here

The wall Reveal is quite a good tool for creating a total elevation of precast and breaking it up at a later date. I have also created a several Wall Reveal familys (depending on construction and waterproofing requirements) but when i create an elevation of this the joint line comes out thick (obviously because it is showing all the chamfered lines etc..)
has anybody come up with a way (either by visability or otherwise) so show a "symbolic" type line to indicate the line in elevation where i dont want to see the high detail view as i would in section???

I just ran into the same problem, there was no really good way to do it with voids since you cannot control their visibility. So I created this one, nothing really 3d about it except the model lines and I just used a masking region in plan.
