For what it's worth, I went through a lot of web research -- on my own time -- recently to improve my method for tracking time for multiple projects and activities. After several options I've settled -- for now -- on the "Cratchit.org Time Tool." It most closely mimicks a *nix utility called KArm but, hey, since Revit >> Autodesk >> MS >> Windows, it took a bit of looking around for a Windows equivalent. Hope someone finds it useful:

It's free -- as in "free beer" and "free [open source] software" so no money now or in the future. See http://www.fsf.org/licenses/gpl.html for definition of all that...

    Thanks John,

I'll give it a try. However, I'm looking for something along the same lines that runs on my PocketPC.

You've got to be kidding. $135 for a PPC application to keep track of time? I don't think so. I'll just stick with Excel for now and keep an eye on my watch.

I spent a couple of hundred dollars, maybe a bit more maybe a bit less, on something similar from Australia's Spherical Technology. It is similar to the Standard time product in that integrates with all kinds of other products. It logs what documents you work on has a timer function for calls dictation etc. You have to be disciplined to make the best of it but it pays for itself quite quickly just keeping track of the work I do on an hourly fee, which is perhaps only 25% of my time.
