Material direction changing with perspective change

I'm a newbie. I mapped a wood grain on stair parts and (finally) got it pretty much right for render. Then I changed the angle of perspective and re-rendered and voila - the grain parameters changed in the rendering (visually, not the actual parameters, which is what I don't understand).

What kind of mapping did you use for that material? It could be that you accidentally used Camera Mapping instead of UVW or Map Scaler

Nope. Didn't use Camera Mapping.

It has something to do with it being imported geometry. It is a Revit drawing converted to DWG and imported through the File Link Manager with the "Derive AutoCAD Primitives As" ---->"Layer, Blocks as Node Hierarchy." I re-imported as -->"Entity, Blocks as Node Hierarchy" and didn't have that problem.
