Background: We have multiple networked floating licensed versions of 2002 that we are upgrading to 2006. We have developed a prototype installation and configuration that we are evaluating by installing a trial version of AutoCAD 2006 on several production machines to acquire feed back from the production architects. We are loading from the AutoCAD 2006 CD. Test computers are Dell PWS running Windows XP SP2.
Problem: The express tools do not properly load. I realize that express tools is not supported. However, it is on the disk and we use it. This install problem is not consistent. Sometimes, but not every time the installation fails when you run AutoCAD for the first time. I have to remove and reinstall the entire AutoCAD package. Sometimes a couple reboots solves the problem. At least once it effected the AutoCAD 2002 version, and several times now, I can't get it to work at all.
Question 1. Is there an express tools setup that would permit me to reinstall just express tools.
Question 2. Anybody know why this is a problem. The specific message I am getting is **Express Tools** - Unable to load aceauto.lsp/fas bad argument type: consp “arctext”.
Question 3. If Autodesk doesn't support Express tools, but includes it on the disk, who does support it?
