I am fairly experienced with Revit but this is a new one.
I am making an auditorium with a sloped floor. Used the Ramp
command and voila but all the chairs are floor based and will not
follow the slope and cannot be moved vertically up and down.
Is there any way to make a real floor (not ramp) that slopes so that floor based components will follow the slope. I was thinking
similar to how you can make a roof by extrusion but the floor command
seems to only be flat floors in plan.
In the meantime I think I will edit the chair to have an elevation parameter
and just fudge it to look good but I can't believe I will be the only Revit user to need a sloped floor (in reality exterior stair landings are supposed to have a slight slope for drainage).
    thanks for any ideas

When in sketch mode for your floor, use the Slope Arrow tool.

In floor sketch mode, just add a Slope Arrow. Specify parameters for the tail and the head heights of the arrow through Properties and on Finish Sketch you'll have a sloped floor. Floor based components will follow the slope (while staying vertical if they are set to in the family.)

If you require a little more control over the shape and slopes you can always create the floor as an in place family.

    Thanks all
    The slope arrow...duh
    I should have spotted this
Gave it a test run and
the chairs follow right along the
slope but remain level. Revit is just too cool!

I believe that if you go into the family file and go to Settings>Family Category and Parameters you can change the Always Vertical setting and the chairs and any other objects will slope with the floor. If you wanna.
