fatal error when rendering or setting up a new view

this project im working on is a simple monument with nothing special about it. almost the smallest project ive done so far. and yet if i try to set up a new view or render the one view i did set up, it locks up and shows a fatal error. I dont understand whats going on but i need this project done so any help would be greatly appreciated! im attaching the file so if someone could figure out how to get this fixed it would be nice.

Ummm.. Which version are you using?

There is a new update out on 9/15 available for download. The first release of 8.1 is a bit buggy for people on certain machines.

It might also be a corrupt element such as a tree that maybe causing the crashes upon render.

Check the journal file to see if this reveals anything also it maybe an idea to do an audit on the file.
