    Default Line thickness

Is there a command or lsp I can use to "flatten" lines? I just received a drawing from an architect, and he has his "walls" drawn in lines that are 8' "thick". We draw in 2d so these walls cause problems.

I believe the flatten command that comes in the express tools might or might not change 'thickness' in a z direction, it's a thing I always have problems with. So, try the flatten lisp off of the exchange, and see if that works.
I had some corrupted drawings (do a search of 'flatten' in these forums and you'll see lots on this), where neither of these options always worked for me, so I did a lot of QSELECT > lines > thickness > greater than > 0" and then reset the thickness in the properties pallette...

    good luck!

What kind of problems? Someone here might have an effective work-around.

LOL - You can't go wrong with that statement.... It will either fix it or it won't .....

BTW -- ET:Flatten *does* work, but be sure your viewpoint matches the UCS in which the line was created.

For Example: If you draw a line with a thickness in WCS, then ucs rotate the view using ORBIT, then run ET:Flatten, you end up with a 4 vertex polyline rather than a line with a zero thickness.

I run an add on program called sprink-CAD for designing fire sprinkler systems. It's VERY touchy and everything needs to be just so for it to work properly. These 8' tall walls just screw up all of sprink-CADs routines.

I am surprised that there is no easy way to take this 8' thickness off of simple lines.

In a plan view, if the walls are simple lines with positve thickness, object snaps will usually find the endpoints, midpoints, etc at zero elevation. No problem most of the time.

I know which ones have a thickness. All of them. I just want to chance them all to zero thickness.

It causes a problem with my add-on prog. Not always, but enough so that I need to make the changes.

    Quick way -
window the entire model-space drawing - everything should be hightlighted.
in properties manager, select "Line", select "Thickness", enter zero (0)
if necessary, pick "Polyline", select "Thickness", enter zero (0)
