    Exclamation Some buggy Items happening

I recently installed AutoCAD 2006 on my computer and everything works great, but there are a couple of buggy things that I have noticed.
    1) The Status Lines are not displaying information (ie: It does not show # of layers, layer picked, etc) in my Layer Properties Manger
    2) My drawing file icons are pointing at the dxx icon rather than the dwg icon in my Windows Explorer. Some other Autocad related icons are pointing to the wrong icons as well.

Does anybody know why this may be happening, and how to fix the problem? I tried figuring it out on my own, but have been unsuccessful.

    Thanks!

I don't know about #2, but, I believe #1 has something to do with a display setting in windows xp? let me do a search and see if I can find where I read that. try playing around with your display (windows classic, etc)

Guess - PickFirst is set to 0 (Zero).

Might be easier to simply try a Repair / Install.

    Have a good one, Mike

alright, I found a link to one of the threads dealing with this issue: http://discussion.autodesk.com/threa...sageID=4966939
It apparently has to do with VBAIDE and or VBA programs. You can try changing the Windows display from XP to Classic style

You know, I'm not really sure, I'd have to go read up on it some more. I'll try to remember to do that and get back to you.

    Hi

Therefore according to the document I quoted above, the Operating System you are using is "officially" supported by Autodesk for the use of AutoCAD 2006.

    Have a good one, Mike
