In the standard family there is a washer - for the life of me I can not figure out how to change it to a dash on the floor plan.
Thanks Matt

The washer is probably a "special equipment" category family. Go to the visibility/graphic settings of the view you want to change to dashed, and select the special equipment category and override the line projection style to dash.
You could change it in every view by changing the object style for that category.
If you always want it to be dashed every time you use the family, you can change the object style of the lines in the family itself.
Matt,
In the standard washer family the symbolic lines are drawn on the 'Specialty Equipment' category... To make this change globally go to Settings>Object Styles>Specialty Equipment and make it dashed. To make the change in a particular view, edit the same under Visibility Graphics.
OR, in the washer family add a DASHED sub-category under 'Specialty Equipment' (and move the lines to it).
DUH: the lag times in bellevue must be greater than in seattle. Off my about 2 minutes. )

Thanks for answering,
Paul - It took me awhile to figure out how to rename it - easy now
