    Angry Image Shift

I am currently using Land Desktop and Raster Design 2006. I work for the State of Florida, we have a Library of Digital Ortho Quarter Quads (DOQQ) that are in Albers Projection and Quads that are in State Plane Projection. When I bring in any of these DOQQ's and re-project them to State Plane Nad 83 they fall in to place just fine, once I close the DWG and reopen it the images shift as much as 500 ft. When I insert a Quad (which is State Plane) it falls into place and does not shift when closed and reopened.

If I insert a State Plane Quad and re-project it to Albers the Quad will not fall into the correct location, but the Albers DOQQ's will fall correctly and will not shift once close and reopened.

Using Land And Raster 2004 I do not have any of these problems.

Can anyone give me a clue? Has anyone had this problem?

I have had similar problems. I noticed that if the resulting image, after being converted to another coord system, had a rotation to it, that would cause the problem. I ended up following this procedure to set the image into the correct coordinate system and save a new world file.

    • Make a new drawing and insert the image using the world file.
    • Start a new drawing and go to Map=>Tools=>Assign Global Coordinate System.
    • Set the coord system for your current drawing.
    • At the bottom of the dialog there is a button called "Select Drawings". Click this and select the drawings that you inserted the image into. Then set the coord system that its in.
    • Then hit "ok". You should see in the command line that it saved to the other file.
    • Using Map, which is part of Land, attach the file with the image to your current file.
    • Run a location query for all.
    • Use Raster to trim out the outer edges of the image to make it straight all the way around.
    • Then create a new world.

    Unhappy Re: Image Shift

Thanks, but we have too many images that I deal with so this is not a solution. I need a solution for raster so I don't have any problems.
