If I change the settings in a view template, it has no immediate effect on any views until I go round them all applying it. An option in the view properties for "associate view template" and then a dropdown of the different templates would be excellent, then when I say made dimensions hidden in a particular template - all the views associated to that template would automatically hide dimensions.

Also the ability to include Worksets within the View templates would be very handy.

Another thought whilst I have my view template head on.

We should be given a list of existing view templates when we do the 'save as view template' command.
That way we can overwrite existing ones from that dialogue

Yes, this is desperately needed! Probably my #2 wish of all time.

    Add my vote.

Both Martin's and Phil's wishes would be a great improvement to efficiency.

Yes...add my vote to all of the above....I hate ending up with View Templates called Drainage, Drainage_A, Drainage_B. etc etc

Could this be a pain in another way? When you do want to see something you would have to unassign the View Template then change the visability and then when you were finished reassign the View Template. That seems like a bit of work also but maybe less.

You would switch view templates from say " Presentation" to "Show All ".

Or else, simply select another view that has the correct template and visability graphics set. ie Floor Plan_ Presentation and Floor Plan _ CD.

    Very fast and simple.

The request is just an enhancement of the current functionality.

Imagining a view property like: "Apply Project View Template" then you choose None or a view template from the list.

If you choose one, then any changes to that project view template are applied to all views to which it is associated.

    Something like that?
