Angry Changing styles in multiple .Ipt files

So inventor lets you change the style in a single ipt file but not in a Assembly.
You can even make a template to your needs, how ewer in case of a change in the type of material you need too use you wont be able to change them all in one operation???

I think that I need to make a script....

    Any suggestions?

Have you tried exporting styles or using external styles libraries? Once I get it set up, I've had pretty good luck using colors and textures with an external style library.

Cool Re: Changing styles in multiple .Ipt files

Yes that will work, but in my case the problem is that we changed the material and so I need to change them all

I have tried to purge the excessive styles etc. and it makes it a Little easier, but it docent change them without me manually opening the files and define the material.

Are you trying to copy the material and then set the material type to current?

If so, there's a VBA app here that should take care of that, called Copy and Set Material.

Smile Re: Changing styles in multiple .Ipt files

Well in a way, but not really.

I am trying to change the material style inn all the parts of our product (there is a lot of parts).

What i had in mind was to change the current style to the new one, whiteout doing it manually.

Step 1. I ganged the current material to the new one. It worked, but I had too open all the materials inn that workspace manually.

Step 2 started looking for a script which could open the files outside (or inside) Inventor and changed the material specifications.

And the Jonathan.landeros directed me too it Copy and Set Material app

Me is a happy hippo no.
