    Default Attribute Editor - Revisited

I have read/searched the forums and didn't find my answer.

My question is about the new Enhanced Attribute Editor....
Only sometimes when I double click on a specific Attribute, I will be prompted to edit a completely different Attribute. I have done a Regen and but that only works some of the time.

I would like to know how to "Tame" this. I would rather not mention how many times I have edited the wrong attribute thinking it was the one that was double clicked on.

    Thanks again

    Hi Tim

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi

Is there any kind of consistent pattern to when this will occur -

    Certain type of drawings
    Certain Font Files
    Modelspace only
    Paperspace only
    etc

    Have a good one, Mike

    Hey Mike -

As far as Certain DWG's. It happens in drawings of what my office calls "Shop Tickets".
Which has many Shop Tickets. Each Shop Ticket has "Parts" which are the blocks in question.

Each "Part" Block has 14 attributes. And there may be up to 200 in each Dwg.

Always the same font - Standard (Verdana)

    Always Model space.

    Thanks

    Hi

    Total guess here....

Within the Blocks are you using duplicate "Tag" names?

    CLOSE -

    ATT TAG NAMES
    PNUM
    PSUFFIX
    X
    Y
    X1
    I1
    I1TYPE
    I2
    I2TYPE
    I3
    I3TYPE
    I4
    I4TYPE
    I5
    I5TYPE
    A1
    A2
    NOTES
    OPERATION

However if I am double-clicking on say "I2TYPE", It may throw me into the "PSUFFIX"
I haven't found any kind of consistency with what it picks or when it picks the right one.

    Hi

    No to "Duplicate Tags".

That blows my little theory out of the water.

Sorry can't think of anything else at the moment that might cause this to happen....

When I zoom into edit an attribute via the Enhanced Attribute Editor...sometimes it will "jump" to edit another attribute in the same block. This only happens sometims but once is enough to have my Boss questioning everything AutoCAD....

    Any advice will help.
    Thank you in Advance

How are you starting the Enhanced Attribute Editor? Do you double-click the block?

If double-clicking on a particular attribute within the block, that attribute is then highlighted in the editor.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

Yes, that is what I'm doing...

I may double click on the first attribute wanting to edit that one, then I look and it has highlighted the third or fifth or eighth...there hasn't been a pattern (that I can find).
