Is there a way to create a set of points from a file containing only 3D polylines - without selecting each line one at a time? Even the automatic method seems to require a single entity selection.
thanks in advance for any insight.

I know that Toolpac has this function. You can find out more at www.dotsoft.com. I've been using it for the past five years. They may even have this tool available in the freebies section too!

You may try going to points-->create points-->misc-polyline verticies-automatic. Although this will have you pick all of the polylines one at a time it will then create a point at each one of the verticies with whatever name that you specify.
Good luck!
