Install .NET framework problems - AutoCAD 2006

Hello,

I don't know where to post this topic because I couldn't find and installation section. I'm having trouble installing Autocad 2006 and I can't get past the first stage.

When I click on "stand alone installation" a window pops up saying:

"Some support components must be installed before Autocad 2006- English is installed. The requires support components will be installed now"

Then another window pops up: "Installing .NET framework runtime 1.1 SP1..."

Shortly after another window pops up saying: "Autocad 2006 - English installation is aborted. Please check setup.log for details" But the setup log is not created.

My guess is that the .NET environment can't install but I don't know how to fix this. Any suggestions would be great.

Try downloading the latest .NET Framework version from the Microsoft web; install this first ( separately ); then install AutoCAD 2006...

The .NET 1.1 SP1 part of the install is too dumb to install itself over 1.1 that's had a security patch installed on it, which may be your problem. See Bug Watch June 2005: Caught in a .NET.
