Red face Wall with Masonry Wainscot

I am relatively new to Revit and am struggling with compound wall types. I am attempting to create a wall with a 30" high masonry wainscot "base" with stucco above to the full height of the wall.

Here is my screen image of my attempt (don't laugh!).

I discovered Wall Sweeps in the process of trying to build my wall. I think I am on the right track now. Thanks for the input.

I'll be back with more questions once I explore wall sweeps some more.

    .
Maybe this file with a compound wall I use might help you in the right direction.

    Matt,

We do this all the time, the trick to getting a realistic wainscot wall is, as you discovered, a sweep. However we also unlock the outside finish material and push it up to the top of the masonry, this way our wall sections and types really look correct. Add a few lines notes and detail components and you have a really clean parametric wall with compound materials. We use this so often that we have a wall style with the sweep built in to the family and we just make a few modifications. I attached a file with it shown. Give it a try

Thank you to ALL who post here! Even though this post is almost 1.5 years old. IT IS STILL EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!! I have been going nuts trying to do a masonry wainscot...not the exact one I need, but I can take it from here. I have a prefab metal building with 2' of masonry/cmu wainscot! With people's help from this forum, I've pretty much can move forward and meet my deadline. Once I get my wall to work, I'll post that! I appreciate your help! I'm pretty new to the forum and I'm finding it to be a great resource and SUPPORT!

Post Re: Wall with Masonry Wainscot

Thanks for the warm welcome Adam Mac!

Here's my masonry wall along with a metal panel-girt wall. Is there a way to combine the masonry wainscot to the metal panel-girt wall? Stacked? Also,I took the wall "substrate" and made it into glass so that you can see the girts. What problems will this cause? Any suggestions to make to improve this wall system would be great.

I want to put an attachment, but unfortunately I can't seem to find the "Browse" button according to the instructions "To attach a file to a new post, simply click the [Browse] button at the bottom of the post composition page,..." Do I need to request to have this feature enable? According to the Post Rules at the bottom of the composition page "I MAY post attachments. Am I blind or something..HELP!
