I have a drawing that when I insert an existing block that has been updated, my drawing containing the existing block doesn't update. Does anyone have an idea why this would happen?

The updated block is in a separate file?
Are you browsing to that file and not just inserting another copy of the block that is already defined in the host drawing?
Yes, the updated block is in a seperate file. And when I try to insert that dwg file (by browsing to it) into the original drawing, I get the message "Duplicate definition of block XXXX ignored".
Hi
See if any of the "Methods" offered in the below Technical Document help...
ID: TS36034 - Block inserted from AutoCAD DesignCenter does not match preview image
Have a good one, Mike
That sounds as if the file that you are trying to insert contains a block with the same name as the block that you are already using. If so, the file would need Purging.Originally Posted by Rachel Ritchie
