Default Installing 2006 while keeping the older versions

Our department recently went to a network version of AutoCAD 2006 with the IT managers instructions (in his email) to remove all older versions of AutoCAD. I went against his instructions (don't tell) and kept the stand alone copy of 2005 installed. I mainly did it for the migration process (which, by the way is the best I've seen out of any other release).

Is there any problems that might come from keeping the older software on the machine. I think it helped me because it kept all my settings and the time it took me to adjust to the newer version was zero.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Violation of the license agreement? Unless you are on subscription.

After you uninstall 2005 now, you will most likely have to run a repair on your 2006 install.

Please explain any problems because of this.

And how do I run a repair.

a] If you are on subscription, then you can keep older versions installed beyond the normal 60 days or whatever it is.

b] Check the "readme" file. It explains that when you have more than one AutoCAD product installed, and you uninstall one of them - that you must run a repair on the remaining products,
