Lightbulb Door / Window Assemblies question

Back in ADt 3.3 you could existing line work of a group of windows and door and convert them into assemblies. I have looked for that ability in ADT 2005 and I can not find it. Does anyone know how you can do that in ADT2005?

Please see the attachment. I created this window assembly from individual window by converting in ADt 3.3. The problem that I am having is cutting in to the wall. Can you please help me with tihs?

    Thank you,

    Brad

If you right click the DWA tool on your palette, you can apply it to an elevation sketch. Check out the help system for the steps on how to do this. My tips would be to make the linework in a plan view, then once the object is created, save the dwg & drag the tool to your tool palette. Then use the tool just like any other.

Question Re: Door / Window Assemblies question

I did that, but I could not get the sash to show up from an elevation sketch? How you do you do that?

    Thank you,

    Brad

I forget - which version of ADT are you on? 2005 or 06?

Your sash is not showing up because the bottom of the wall is floating in air. Stick it down at a zero elevation & it will show - similar to the stock ADT wall I added to the dwg. Either that or bumping up the sill height from zero to about 6" above 0" grade will cause the sash to show.

On a side note, I noticed that in the file you posted, the DWA was not anchored to the wall that it appeared to be sitting in. You can add the window back into the drawing & re-select which wall it is attached to. Or you can pick the existing window, right click & choose "Anchor to Wall". I don't really trust this method as it produces what I call "unpredictable results".
