For some reason, I am getting a "Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry." error whenever I try to insert an Excel OLE object with the "Create New" option. This is not a problem with other objects.
I never had this problem before. This is also not a problem if I insert an existing Excel file using the "Create from file" option or copying the worksheet from Excel and then pasting it onto AutoCAD. However, whenever I dbl click on the Excel OLE object in AutoCAD to do an edit, I get a "Failed to launch server application" error and Excel will not launch, although, the worksheet opens if I have Excel already running.
What's interesting is that if I edit the worksheet by opening it from Excel, do an edit and save it (my workaround), it will not update the object in AutoCAD. This is very frustrating because the Excel file/worksheet is referenced to more than one drawing and so I am forced to copy the worksheet and paste it (not to mention, resize and reposition) onto each of my drawings. Aaaarrrggh!!! Can someone help?
