Question Bring to front Text over a Solid Hatch

Applying 'Bring to front' to text over a solid hatch only works in the current session.
When the drawing is opened again (after having saved it properly), it has reverted to being under the hatch. Regen or Regenall does not work.
It is a real pain having to go to every piece of text and re-set it.
    Any thoughts?

For the time being, I am going to split the bounding frames, hatch and text onto seperate layers to help with applying 'bring to front' next time I open it, but I don't think that this should be neccessary; I am trying to keep the number of layers manageable - this is going to create another 12.

    Sincerely

    Patricia

    Thanks, Mike

    Texttofront works a treat.

I know this thread is a bit old.. But I'm having a similar type issue.

Using ACAD 2005. We have an MText box using true type fonts and this is located over a solid hatch. I am trying to print this and the whole thing shows up as solid. This happens even on our color printers. I sort of understand why this would happen on a black and white printer, but shouldn't it print correctly on the color plotter?

    Any thoughts?

In your print driver, check the Merge Control option.
"Lines Merge" may be the option you need.

Thanks for the reply. That was the first option I checked too. I've been through just about every setting for the printer and I just can't get it to print correctly.

I might just have to accept that it can't be done.

If this is a solid hatch, you can make a text mask with the background to be the same color as the solid hatch, type textmask, m for masktype, then s for solid, it prompts you then for a color to select.

have you tried using a dense dot hatch pattern instead of solid?
