    Angry Pipes & Station Equations

I have an alignment which represents the centerline of a pipeline. There is a station equation in the alignment. For some reason, with the station equation, I get a fatal error whenever I try to save or open the drawing (or any drawing that references it).

Due to the project conditions, it is undesirable to change stationing (to be able to remove the equation). I've been trying to think of a work-around. I have been thinking maybe I should break the alignment up into two pieces and butt the profile views together.

Does anyone have a solution to fix the fatal errors, or is there a better work-around?

    Hi eckdahlrd:
First question. Do you have the latest SP installed? Also, which version are you using? As a fix to your situation, if the above SP is installed, I would do the duplex profile scenario as you suggested.

    I have both SP2 and HF2, and I am running 2006.

I've put it in as the double alignment and double profile view work-around. It appears as though this may be an acceptable alternative, but the problem I'm now having is that the pipe that runs across the split is not showing correctly (it's actually showing at a sharp angle up and to the left (backward in a left to right profile) in the first profile view. The same pipe is shown correctly in the second profile view.
I may just have to "fudge" this one in.

Hi! I don't have an answer to your problem, but hope that you have some ideas for mine...
I'm new to the pipeline industry and I recently discovered that our CAD centerlines were inaccurately drawn by the technician who preveiously held my position. We're moving to a GIS, and correct centerlines are necessary before we proceed. From the original Alignment Sheets, I have calculated the bearings and slope distances between PIs. How do I derive horizontal distances in order to redraw the centerlines? Do you have any suggestions, or can you point me in the right direction? Thanks for your consideration, Keri
