Default Select Visibility state on Insert with Macro or Dialogue

Summary: Select dynamic block Visibility state on insert with a property option that can be run via command line scripts and popup dialogue similar to attributed blocks.

Description: Select dynamic block Visibility state on insert with a field option that can be run via command line scripts and popup dialogue similar to attributed blocks. Preview of block is a bonus.

This reduces the steps required to go back and edit the visibility state after insertion and allows for script/macro automation on insert - would really add to the power of the dynamic block feature.

I'd hate to have a pop up or additional input needed everytime I insert a block with multiple visibility states... I use tool palettes for block insertion, and if I regularly use a visibility state, I simply set another button with that state. I have this available for most of my blocks. It still allows for later changes in the drawing, but keeps the workflow for inserting them simple.

That is a great idea for palettes - I typically use Toolbars. Since most of my customization is done with macros the options (Vis state) would be picked in the macro. I get your concern though as it would be the same as an attributed block if it came up on one pop-up, I wouldn't mind. Thanks for the feedback.

You can do this now with autolisp.

I've been doing something that stems from this with Visual LISP for some time, using AllowedValues Property of the GetDynamicBlockProperties Object... Basically, a Menu & Ribbon accessible dropdown, that makes it easy to change the Visibility State of our title block on the fly which resides on a locked layer (i.e., change from Full Plan to Double Plan & Profile, etc.).

Genuinely curious; are you saying that this be done with (vanilla) Autolisp? If so, could you share reference, DXF codes, etc. that I may have overlooked?

    Cheers
