    Default Missing Shape files?

Maybe a simple question? When I open up a drawing it asks for a specific shape file.(.shx) So I created the .shx file from another .shx file. I opened the drawing up again and it says that the .shx file is a normal text font file, not a shape file. Apparently you cannot copy a text file (.shx) and rename it because it is specifically looking for a (.shx)SHAPE file. What do i do? Can I create the shape file?

Where did you get the drawing? If you received it from someone else, you could ask them to provide it to you.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

    Hi

Is it possible to obtain the missing Font file from the drawing originator ?

Have you tried searching the web for the missing Font file ?

    Here's a drastic solution...

ID: TS19683 - Erase shapes and purge references to unavailable shape (SHX) files

Personally I would try to obtain the missing Font file.

    Have a good one, Mike

You must find the shape file that the drawing needs -or- purge whatever is referencing this shape file.

    Here are some ideas:
