8.1/E - Type Catalogs instead of Components - O

This really isn't a feature wish. I'm wishing that Autodesk ask the industry to supply type catalogs instead of content. This way we, as finicky architect end users, can create our content the way we see fit and label our parameters to match the parameters given in the type catalogs.

I'm sure most, if not all, manufacturers have their product lines in some type of database. All they have to do is export it in the right format and give us a diagram describing all of the parameter values. We can make use of these values as we see fit.

I create alot of manufacturer content and I wish that they could provide more detailed info on there products thus letting me do there stuff more accurately.
