It depends really. Most of these details and detail components were created to be stand-alone details. If you were to make a section, and then detail over that, this library would be much larger because it would contain a bunch of 3D modeling information. It's much more difficult to copy and paste 2D details and the 3D model information into your own projects.
Thanks to everyone who contributed and thanks to you also Scott don't sell your efforts short, it still takes time to get, organize setup and distribute. Nice to see you got around to it.
Gotcha, that is what I though. I just wanted to clarify because I didn't know if Revit was turning into a 2D program or something.
No, but it helps to break the misconception that "Revit can't do 2D". For some reason, many think Revit is 3D only. IMO. Revit does 2D just as well as it does 3D. I find myself detaiing in Revit, then export to DWG for our other jobs that are still in AutoCAD.Originally Posted by bob.parker
