Retain Crop Region Settings

Every time I turn a Crop Region off in a view, and then turn it back on, it resets the Crop Region to some other size then what I had it. I wish it would retain the size.

I'm always turning them on and off looking for missing levels, misplaced objects, etc. and it's a drag to have to re-setup the Crop Region every time.

Why doesn't it retain its settings?

I would love this, although I would add one thing. I would like some way to be able to set it to the extents of the model, or some other predefined extents, so that if it ever gets accidentally moved far away from the model or something, you don't completely lose where you are in relation to everything.

I just never turn it 'off'. I can't really think of a time when I've needed to switch it on and off multiple times...but it does seem logical that it should retain its settings.

Might consider scope box? It will govern the crop region of all views assigned to it.

Maybe worth considering if there was one or two views that you needed to go back and forth on many times?

But my crop region is different for every single view I have - wouldn't that mean setting up a lot of scope boxes? That seems like a solution that's more work than the problem?

It's not that re-setting up a crop region is that hard... it's that it's a complete waste of thirty seconds and physical and mental energy for something that's totally unnecessary (if they would only retain the crop region settings for you).
