    Unhappy AEC DIMS

OK so I have an 8-story building I am making a RCP for and I went to dimension a datum point and the dim text was in a bad location so I went to move it and I clicked on the circle grip for the edit in place function. Well when I click on the circle I only get the grips for the extension lines and no grips for the text. I don’t why it is doing this. Each floor is in a separate file and only 1 floor is acting up the others are fine. If anyone has a clue to what is going on I would appreciate the help

I looked at your drawing, and here's what I found. I'm not sure if the others are set up this way, but in your dimstyle you told ADT to "Always keep text between ext lines" in the "Fit" tab of the Dimstyle dialog box. As soon as I unchecked this I was able to move the text out, with a leader, using the little triangle under the edit in place toggle circle. I'm not sure if this is the said grip you were looking for, but I was able to pull the text aside.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for pointing that out on the "fit tab" under "fit options" that we always have checked but looking at that tab the style was wrong we usually set the text placement to be "over the dimension line without a leader" and that did fix it I appreciate your time

Even though it pulls the text out, I can't seem to move the text around. I can move the dimension line and length of the leaders, but the text isn't an option.

    Am I missing something?
