I have just installed ADT2006, where I do not use the ADT portion, when I am in AutoCAD I have no express tools or toolbar. Does 2006 not have express tools?

del... scroll down below these messages and you'll see a feature called 'similar threads' you should be able to find the information in one of those.Originally Posted by del.wingerter

I have gone through these related threads and done as said to. Now I have express tools pull down and tool bars, but the tool bars and pull downs just have clouds with question marks.....forgive me I am not over technically inclined, this may need to be beaten into my head. Thanks for any help!
great... well... I just did a search for pulldown question marksOriginally Posted by del.wingerter
the second one might be worth checking out. if you expand the search to just question marks, you'll get a lot more hits. (don't know much about the actual problem you're having, but, I do know there have been some threads on it)

This may help understanding the problem.... I have upgraded from ADT2005 to ADT2006, I have both programs available to me, not sure if thats the way it's supposed to be or not. I only use the AutoCAD that supplied with the programs, while I am in AutoCAD 2005 I have Express Tools and all that jazz, when I installed the new AutoCAD I do not have the Express tools in just the new application. I have gone through the recommended threads and may have found something to help out, I am however nervous that if I copy files from one program to the next that things will get screwed up.
When you install AutoCAD, I'm not sure if it's the same with ADT, you have to select to install the express tools. Was this done? Maybe they were never installed with 2006?Originally Posted by del.wingerter
I believe that, with 2006, express tools are checked to install as a default...Originally Posted by BrenBren

I did not see any options like that, I also inserted the first disc and found nothing about express toolsOriginally Posted by BrenBren
ooh... catch 22 on that... I think you have to do a custom or full install to have that option/selection? hmm... trying to see what the file name should be on that... can't find it... will try to look and get back later... have you just tried a search for .exe files on the discs to find a likely suspect?Originally Posted by del.wingerter

It was included in the install, not separately like it used to be...I always do a custom install, and make sure it is checked...Originally Posted by del.wingerter
just a thought. I'm sure there is an easy way to tell if they were installed with this version...
I'm not sure about this, but when I look at my program files (I am using mechanical, so they are slightly different), under program files/acadm 2006 I have a folder entitled express. Probably a quick way to see if they were actually installed... ~shrug~
