Sometimes I think the traditional method seemed so much easier than the plethora of cad options currently available.

Surprisingly, when the traditional users do convert to the cad environment their empirical knowledge, draughtsmanship skills and engineering expertise can prove to be a real asset.

    To true!
We are currently undergoing a complete site restructuring with the aim of cutting numbers. The one thing that is standing out glaringly is that the most experienced people who cannot be easily replaced are us contract designers. There's now a panic on that we may all leave and leave the site in the sh1. I suppose it's the down side of UK companies making hundreds of thousands contract to save a quick buck during the nineties.
