If anyone has any comments on the quality of the DesignJet 500PS 42" printer as used for an in house plotter for E size and smaller drawings please respond. The printer would be used lightly, and speed is not the most important aspect as compared to quality and reliability. Thanks for you comments.

I haven't used this particular model, but, I do have designjets 450, 650 & 750 and haven't really had a problem with any of them in the past 6, 6 & 4 years (doing a moderate amount of printing).

We have three of them within our company. They work great with minor problems with one of them. The print speed could be a little faster but it OK for what we use them for. We've had one for about 5 years.

We've got one that's 3-4 years old. Works great, nice output, and so far, no breakdowns or problems.

We have that exact model. It has worked great for about five years.
We recently had to have some maintenance work done on it. The carriage and belt need to be replaced. I
