    Default Rendering autocad 3d blocks?

    Hello everyone,
I was trying to import an autocad 3d block to revit with the materials assigned in autocad itself but when i render the same block in revit i don't see all the materials i have selected.in autocad.
why does this happen? and is there a solution where we can keep the materials intact or else have the materials assigned in autocad.?
    Regards,
    Aliya

    Aliya,
Have you checked the object styles?
As far as I can remember, you might only be able to change the colours only.....

If I understand what's being asked... generally speaking, you just need to remap them. In revit, you can map the autocad object "layers" to materials in your library using object styles. You'll probably also need to go through your materials and sort them out for the imported dwg so you have something to map to in the object style properties.

To avoid doing this every time you need to use the same dwg, I generally insert it into a new family, work out all the material mapping and save - then load it into my project.

    Hope that helps.

Aliya, ive been doing this with AutoCAD vehicles, for my rendering... And ive had to import tha material maps/files, or whatever, in to the same directory as my Revit material library, so accurender could find it when i went to assign them...

First prize would be to take your ACad Dwg into a new RPC Car family and apply the RPC properties to it, therefore you will have more of a "photorealistic render."
This is where the 3d Max / Viz renders experts/users Knock accurender

Woah, i didnt even see RPC family in there. I think i should try that too, as my way of importing the materials in to my material library is working, but it makes the cars very metallic and reflective... Like chrome, lol...
