Exclamation Slow Plotting - A plotting job is already being published in the background...

I received the following complaint from a co-worker of mine. Is there anyone out there that has had the same problem? Is there a known fix?

“When I print a drawing (even a 27k drawing size) it takes at least 30 seconds before AutoCAD will let me print again. A note states that ″a plotting job is already being published in the background and only one job can be published at a time. Wait for the job to complete then try again.″ In AutoCAD 2002 I can print the same drawings immediately one after another without any delays”

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD 2006 General forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi

Have you looked at the system variable BackGroundPlot ( introduced in AutoCAD 2005 ) ?

    Have a good one, Mike

It worked. As it turns out the setting was at 3 when mine is at 2. Thank you so much for your help. Is there somewhere is the plot interface where that can get turned on? We are dumbfounded how this setting got changed. Again thanks a lot.

    Hi

    Good to hear

    One method...

Options dialog box -> Plot and Publish tab -> Background processing options area ( bottom left ).

    Have a good one, Mike
