Question Copy and Paste Objects move from location, how do I retain control

When I copy and paste objects from one drawing to another, how can I keep
the objects from being pasted miles away from where I am drawing?

Have you tried using the COPYBASE command, where you can select a base point?

that happens to me all the time when i have a custom UCS in use and don't use COPYBASE (i love my 8 button mouse!!)
Sometimes, i get lost in my own thoughts and need to ask directions to find my way back.

Ahhhh, yes, copy with basepoint works for me.

I am so trained using windows that I just have to hit control +C and +V all the time.

I am going to have to teach and old dog a new trick, lol.

I've defined the alias CC to be my copybase. Then I have C for copy; makes it pretty quick. But, I admit, I use ctrl+C a lot, and have to think before I click

I have it set up (changed in the config files) to have CopyBase CTRL+D...

also, kind of off the topic, but I have instances where I need to turn on and off my snap... which i have set up as CTRL+F!!
