Angry Toolbars moving in AutoCAD 2006

I've never had this problem before until 2006... with my toolbars, I have them setup so my Draw toolbar is on the left, and the Modify is next to that (still on the left) and now for some odd reason, when i open up AutoCAD the Modify has moved below the Draw instead of next to it...

    any thought?

    Hi

Plug the following search criteria into the forum search facility ( hint - limit your search to the AutoCAD 2006 CUI Menus forum )...

    Key Word(s): *Toolbar* + *WorkSpace* + *Position*

    Have a good one, Mike

I have ditched 90% of my toolbars. I only use one customized toolbar, but I can take a shot at helping you... Have you tried locking the locations of your toolbars?

    Hi,

seems like the arrangement of toolbars you did is not saved while you close AutoCAD. Once you start AutoCAD again, they appear in same places. You need to use WSSETTINGS command and select AUTOMATICALLY SAVE WORKSPACE SETTINGS. Click OK and rearrange the toolbar. Once you restart AutoCAD, you could find the toolbars are on the same places where you moved last time. Hope this helps.

    cheers!

Another legitimate point, but if you are not changing WorkSpaces, you shouldn't have that problem, I wouldn't think.

I do have my setting to automatically save my settings, and i dont change workspaces (im the CAD IT Guy... so we are actually in the process of switching over to 06 from 02 (HUGE Jump, and im lovin it!) so I have actually installed 06 three times on my computer to work out any future bugs with the rest of the installs we need to do... the first two installs i had no problems... the the third one (which i did identical to the second, just did it for documentation) this problem arrised.

I hope that makes sense to you guys, cuz i just read it, and it's a little confusing (and im the one that wrote it!!!)

I have toolbars reset themselves every so often.
Doesn't matter if I pay close attention to what I am doing in the CUI to prevent it......
eventually I will just get lazy and BLAMMO! They go all over the place.

Autodesk should do something about this

We, too, recently upgraded from 2002, but we went from 2002LT to full version 2006. That was a huge jump. But, it gave me a lot of things to look at, and a lot of configuring to do. The Engineers love that.

We are using LDT 2006 and have experienced a similar problem but only with LDT toolbars.

I don't have a solution to your problem but I do have a work around. If the user saves a workspace and then sets it to My Workspace, the preferred toolbar locations can be restored by clicking the My Workspace button on the Workspaces toolbar.
