Can anyone lead me in the right direction?? thanks.
You have one sweep and one extrusion coming together. Use the join geometry tool.
All I can say Micheal is WOW. Looks like you have put alot of detail to this family. I can't seem to find exactly what the problem with your family is. Maybe someone else can shed some light here.
I would like to make some suggestions though.
1. Try not to use so many reference planes since this could over complecate the family.
2. Have tried making a Cataloque family out of this ?This way it reduce the size of the family file ,you get too choose exactly what type you want to use in your project and it allows you add more choices for this family very quickly.
If you any questions regarding cataloque files I'm more than willing to give summary I typed up for my own benefit about them.
Thank you. I am interested and have begun my txt file to start a type catalouge but it failed. I was going to try to work my way through it today. thanks for your help and tips.Originally Posted by Elmo
Why do you say that ?I've created a few families using the catalog method although I mostly create individual families that have no other types apllied to them. What where you struggling with maybe I can be of some assistance.
Also here is the file that I created to ehlp myself better understand Cataloq files. A large amount was apllied from the help files so some of it might be redundent.
Can i use the built in identity data fields? i.e. ##model##Identity Data, ##manufacturer##Identity Data
Since i started with the revit 'double hung w/trim' family; those fields are built in. I also tag my window according to model so i don't want to make a new tag for this window type.
I was using excel then saving as a txt file but the formatting was off. (it wasn't putting in the comma's and removing the spaces.

Here's a fixed Rfa ... without disturbing lines.
I changed some material settings, adjusted some visibility settings, locked the sweep path of the cantilevered part of the inner sill, and joined it all together.
Yes you can but how that would work is you say ,Model##Other##, not ##Model## Identity Data.Originally Posted by Michael C
You see anything that is not a length parameter must stated as Other.
So Basically it work like this.
Type ,Width##Length##millimeters,Model##Other##,
DSA,813,Round Top
Note : The Type is not put there when writing your prcedure for the catalog. Just place a comma before the first element of the procedure.
