    Default Terramodel Vs Civil 3D

We currently use Terramodel in our office and we are looking at maybe using Civil 3D. For those who have used both please share your pro and cons for each.

    Thank you,

    Kris

Civil 3D is a completely different animal if you are used to working with terramodel. You will need to get accustomed to applying 'Styles' to objects and creating them. But as far as production, once your team gets the concepts down, you should see some improvements in production. 3D takes a little getting used to, but it works as fast, if not faster than Terramodel.

I didn't have the luxury of using Terra Model. I have learned that there will always be pros and cons to whatevery you choose. The main differentiator between Civil 3D and the other civil apps I have used or understand thoroughly, is that the building blocks of Civil 3D are intelligent objectswhere as the building blocks of other applications are "primitive or unintelligent" objects. With the intelligent object, comes an abundance of dynamics that is unprecendented in what I have seen and quite amazing!
